Trails

Follow yellow signs for the sculpture trail, which takes in most of the Medlock sculptures from the Lady of the Valley to MancHenge and our community bench. Follow the green signs for the Woodland and Riverside trails, which is a more accessible route following the river (note the paths are currently in poor state due to recent floods, but this should be improved by summer 2025).

The map below shows both trails with the approximate locations of the sculptures marked with yellow dots (you might have to look into the woods to see them). Ponds are marked in blue.

Note the riverside trail can be extended by following the dotted path and crossing the river again further up Palmerston Street, before taking the cycle/footpath back up to Aden Close. There is an extra sculpture and a pond to check out near there, too – can you decipher the writing on the stone?

We will continue to extend and improve these trails in future to take in more of the Lower Medlock Valley and make them accessible to pram and wheelchair users.
